AC Biode (Luxembourg), originally specializing in AC battery development, has diversified its focus to encompass multiple fields. They now engage in battery manufacturing, plastic recycling with a unique catalytic pyrolysis process that converts plastics into oil, and the construction of rapid, 4-hour-built houses. In addition, AC Biode actively contributes to environmental sustainability by capturing CO2 through air filters and transforming it into low-carbon glass with their product, RECO GLASS.

Appsilon Enterprise (Delft, Netherlands) specializes in lab-grown CVD diamonds with versatile applications in jewelry, semiconductors, and quantum computing. Their diamonds serve as efficient heat sinks in semiconductors, enhancing chip performance and lifespan. Additionally, these lab-grown diamonds are biocompatible, making them suitable for medical and biotechnological applications.

Divigas (Singapore, Singapore) has developed a hydrogen separation membrane that improves cost efficiency in hydrogen industrial processes and enables cheaper carbon capture.

Elven Technologies (Sacramento, USA) develops a flexible, lightweight, and cost-effective fireproof composite material capable of withstanding direct flames up to 2000°C. They apply this material to create flameproof enclosures for lithium batteries, addressing the safety issues in electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems. Elven's technology has applications in various industries, including aerospace, emergency medical services, construction, and defense.

FreyZein Technologies (Graz, Austria) revolutionizes the textile industry by developing a 100% cellulose-based technical fabric that is waterproof, breathable, and eco-friendly. This sustainable alternative targets premium brands looking for environmentally friendly and high-performance textiles.

Imprintec (Bochum, Germany) addresses the need for a fast, cost-effective, non-destructive testing method for mechanical properties. Their technology offers flexibility for various applications and is a solid-state solution.

Klar2O (Bruchsal, Germany) Klar2O tackles the issue of microplastics with a sustainable, regenerative, and reusable microplastic filtration technology. Their USPs include achieving 100% microplastics filtration, flow-through filtration without external pressure, and sustainability.

Nanosci (Warsaw, Poland) utilizes nanotechnology-based technology to purify the air by removing smog, odors, and disease-transmitting agents. Their photocatalytic engine is energy-efficient and maintenance-free, suitable for public buildings and electrical appliances. Nanosci's technology offers high air purification, low electricity consumption, and scalable manufacturing.

Novac (Modena, Italy) addresses limitations in supercapacitor technology, uses patented materials to create customizable supercapacitors without the risk of fire. Their solid-state design enhances safety and resistance to mechanical stress and thermal shocks.

Volexion (Evanston, USA) offers a graphene encapsulation solution that extends the cycle life of batteries, increases energy density, and reduces cost of production. Volexion's innovation is a drop-in solution with potential applications in various industries.

About AdMaCom Scale

The Advanced Materials Competition Scale (AdMaCom Scale) is a fast-paced, four-week, equity-free Scale-Up Program for growth-stage startups with novel technologies in Advanced Materials. Organized by the Innovation Network for Advanced Materials (INAM), the program brings together the brightest minds in science to make the right connections and to gain access to the broad infrastructure that the network is known for. The AdMaCom Scale program focuses on providing startups with the necessary skills they need to successfully scale up their technologies.

AdMaCom Scale 2023 will be the second edition of the program and will take place from 2 - 26 October 2023.

Applications for the Scale edition began in summer 2023 and ended in August 2023. Members and experts ofINAM evaluated the applicants. Each applicant was given scores based on their ideas, technology, team, and market fit which were then evaluated further by the board members of the network. The evaluation period ended in August and concluded with ten confirmed startup finalists.
