How New Materials for 3nm and AI Chips Can Boost Performance

Semiconductor companies are pushing beyond traditional silicon-based chips by incorporating advanced materials like gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC). These materials are enabling higher efficiency, especially in power electronics for AI accelerators and edge computing devices. GaN chips, for example, can operate at higher voltages and frequencies, reducing energy loss and enhancing performance for data centers and electric vehicles.
